Overview

One hour of
homework (approximately) will be assigned daily
v
Homework is due
back the next day unless otherwise noted

The Homework
Planner must be signed by a parent daily- it is unacceptable to sign for one whole
week in advance.
Language Arts
v
30 minutes of
independent/assigned reading each night
v
Students record
in their Vocabulary Notebooks interesting language or challenging vocabulary as
they read and the definition of the word based on the context of the
story. Students should use their skills
of inferring and the contextual cues found in the story to write a definition-
no running to the dictionary required.

Writing homework

Vocabulary/Spelling

Math
v
Students should
take home their Student Reference Book (hardcover textbook) on nights they have
assigned math work. This book is a
reference tool to aid in understanding assignments.

Progress Packets
v
Every two weeks
(approximately) a packet of graded/scored work will be sent home to keep you
abreast of your child’s progress.

Please look over
the packet with your child, sign and return the packet on the following
